SPECIAL GENERAL MEETINGS
Further changes to the Constitution

The amendments to the constitution detailed in the last newsletter were accepted at the AGM on 20 October 2009. Unfortunately that's not the end of it!

Closer scrutiny, brought to our attention by one of our members, was of concern to the Committee. This was regarding the calling of Special General Meetings (Item 14). Having considered this we agreed  the need for further changes which we couldn't do at the AGM as we're required to give 21 days notice of any proposed changes.

We are aware that as a committee we need to be accountable and able to deal with concerns as quickly as possible, therefore we are immediately putting in place the following protocol.

If there is a matter of concern which any of our members wishes to raise, they should initially take this to any member of the committee. If a solution can't be found, they will be invited to address the committee at their next meeting. If  still no resolution follows, this should be raised at the next monthly meeting by the concerned member. If, by a show of hands, a minimum of 25 other members show support, the matter will be discussed, and if necessary voted on, at the next monthly meeting. All members will be notified in time for them to have an opportunity to consider the issue. The Committee will follow this arrangement informally until the changes can be made to the constitution.
