lunch at the Casa Pizza, Whaley Bridge - Spring 2010

We had a delightful lunch at the Casa Pizza in Whaley Bridge who kindly opened especially for us on their day off so that we could celebrate the coming of spring in style. The food was really excellent and the company as ever great fun.

We discussed our latest book,''Wolf Hall' by Hilary Mantel, a heavy in all senses of the word. We voted it a difficult but rewarding read that we had all learnt something from. Two of our number had seen the Holbein portrait of Henry and found the intimidating sense of absolute power of that picture perfectly illustrated in this book.

	BOOK GROUP 1 Leader: Anni Bowden The group meet on the third Monday of each month at 2:30 pm at a member's house - unless we are having a literary lunch! We have 10 members.

There are wide ranging and informative discussions on books and authors and we are often amazed at where a book can take us.		We have read lots of books that members would never have considered if they did not belong to the group.
