lunch at the Casa Pizza, Whaley Bridge - April 2010 We had a delightful lunch at the Casa Pizza in Whaley Bridge who kindly opened especially for us on their day off so that we could celebrate the coming of spring in style. The food was really excellent and the company as ever great fun. We discussed our latest book,''Wolf Hall' by Hilary Mantel, a heavy in all senses of the word. We voted it a difficult but rewarding read that we had all learnt something from. Two of our number had seen the Holbein portrait of Henry and found the intimidating sense of absolute power of that picture perfectly illustrated in this book. |
