Rich man, poor man, beggarman or thief? You may find them all when researching your family history, as well as a lot of nice ordinary people.

You will certainly discover some of the secrets long forgotten or hidden and an understanding of what it was like to live in the past.

We are also able to offer one to one tuition at some sessions using computers and Microfiche Readers in the Library

As well as helping each other to research our personal histories, we occasionally visit Record Offices, invite speakers with some expertise in family history, and undergo various projects.

To date a number of our group have transcribed several of the Stafford wills and we are at present researching the many Public houses and beer houses of New Mills.
