Day 1 Day 2 (morning) The present castle, which was the film location for Downham Abbey, was designed in 1842 by Sir Charles Berry, architect for the Houses of Parliament. The 5th Earl, with Howard Carter, discovered the tomb of Tutankhamun in 1922. A group of twelve members enjoyed a tour of the BBC studios in Manchester. Whilst the BBC Philharmonic orchestra were taking a lunch break we went into the recording studio and our guide Louise took this photo of us all. Thanks to Barbara for organising it. |
