Meetings: various monthly - all outings are open to the full membership

When possible information will be printed in the news letter, and during monthly meetings can be found on the notice board at the back of the hall. Places are limited therefore we recommend checking at the beginning of each meeting.
Members are requested to join outings at New Mills bus station unless the journey passes through your area and pick ups have been arranged in advance with Barbara or Pat.

2 pm Coach to Gorton Monastery (talk and refreshments)

Travel to Manchester city centre, time for a look around the shops and lunch.
Coach to Gorton Monastery where we will have a one hour talk on the History and restoration of the building. Followed by tea/coffee and biscuits.

Known as the Manchester Taj Mahal Gorton Monastery is a grade II listed building. Designed by Edward Pugin in the neo-gothic style it is said to be an architectural master piece both inside and out.

Originally a Franciscan friary the building ceased to be used for Christian worship in 1989. Abandoned, falling into neglect and vandalised the restoration began 2007. We will hear the fascinating story of how the building was brought back to life. This architectural gem is now transformed into a unique venue for weddings, community events and corporate gatherings.

Gordon Rigg Garden Centre(Todmorden)/Hebden Bridge.

Depart 9.15am New Mills Bus Station for Garden Centre.
Time for coffee and to browse their range of goods on sale including Farm Shop.

Depart 12.30pm for short journey to Hebden Bridge.
An attraction market town with many eating establishments, quirky shops and Thursday Market. Take a stroll along the tow path of the Rochdale canal.

Depart home 3.30pm.
